What We Are Doing

All individuals entering the Valley Center for Health and Wellness and the LifeStyles fitness center are required to undergo a temperature check.

Plexiglas screens have been added to areas such as the Front Desk, Fitness Desk, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Desk, to ensure safe, contactless communication between staff and members.

A “touch-free” check-in and check-out process has been implemented.

We use hospital-grade, EPA-registered, CDC-approved sanitizing and disinfecting solutions that kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. Our disinfection process has been developed in conjunction with The Valley Hospital Infection Control and Environmental Services teams.

State-of-the-art technology is employed to disinfect surfaces throughout the facility. This includes the Victory™ Electrostatic Sprayer, which uses electrical charges to efficiently and evenly distribute disinfectant across the surface of given spaces, including the 360º around the grips of equipment.

High-touch surfaces like exercise equipment, door handles, stair railings, lockers, faucets, are frequently sanitized.

Our newly appointed Safety Ambassadors will circulate throughout the facility to monitor the sanitization of equipment, spot clean and disinfect as needed, and ensure that members are following all safety protocols. Learn more about our new Safety Ambassador role.

We have created sanitation stations throughout the facility, increasing the number of wall-mounted, alcohol-based hand sanitizers and adding sanitizing-wipes dispensers and/or additional spray bottles near all exercise equipment.

The fitness floor has been adjusted to ensure physical distancing between machines, and we have designated a specific area of the main fitness floor for high-intensity workouts.

The Wellness Center HVAC system will be run to maximize air turnover, minimize air recirculation, and increase the volume of outdoor air velocity.

Our facility cleaning staff’s schedules have been updated to provide additional coverage throughout the day. They will be more highly visible and will be regularly sanitizing common areas, circulating hourly through locker rooms to sanitize and clean in that space, and actively cleaning throughout LifeStyles and the Wellness Center during our hours of operation.

How You Can Help

If you have not already done so, please download and fill out the COVID-19 Waiver and Release from Liability form and bring it with you at your first visit. The form can be downloaded here or completed when you arrive at LifeStyles.

We’ve updated our Member Expectations and Regulations document. Please review here.

Please comply with physical distancing requirements, particularly in the locker room areas, and adhere to all posted signage and spacing restrictions.

Members are required to wear masks while in the Wellness Center and in Valley Health LifeStyles, including while exercising. The only exception is while in the pool, or where doing so would inhibit a member’s health and/or pose a safety risk.

For fully vaccinated LifeStyles members, masks are required in our building lobby and all building common areas. Once through LifeStyles’ doors, vaccinated members may remove their mask.  For unvaccinated LifeStyles members, masks are required in all areas of the entire building.   Regardless of vaccination status, all those who enter our building – patients, members and guests – MUST wear a mask upon entering the facility, while in common areas and when in any clinical service space, including the pharmacy, imaging area or physical therapy area.

While the policy above remains in effect, as a healthcare system and in accordance with the CDC, Valley strongly urges everyone to consider wearing a mask in indoor settings when in an area that is CDC- designated as substantial or high COVID transmission, such as Bergen County.

Please use the on-deck showers before entering the pool.

Please leave locker doors open for sanitizing and disinfection by LifeStyles staff after you leave the locker room.

You must wear foot coverings within the restroom and locker room areas, as well as on the pool deck.

Bring your own hand towels, exercise mats, yoga mats, pool equipment (such as floats, kickboards, or noodles) and any other equipment or props.

Please comply with our Clean-In, Clean-Out policy. Everyone will be required to stop at a designated Hand Sanitizing Station upon entering LifeStyles, while moving between exercise units, and when leaving through any doorway.
