How is LifeStyles different from other fitness centers and gyms?
The “medical fitness” difference includes: medical oversight of programs and policies; degreed fitness staff and licensed healthcare professionals; exercise programming for the entire family and special populations including seniors, post-cardiac rehab, and chronic disease groups. Our focus is on physical activity as a means to prevent and recover from disease and injury in a safe and supervised facility.
What wellness services are offered in the Health and Wellness Center?
All members receive a physical fitness evaluation and individualized exercise plan to meet their goals. In addition, Valley’s registered dietitians, rehabilitation programs, and community health programs will be offered on-site. Valley Health LifeStyles offers a monthly, free program where you can learn about the latest topics in nutrition and physical fitness, share healthy recipes and participate in wellness topic discussions with our professional and clinical staff. In addition, cooking demonstrations will be offered as a part of our wellness programming using our “mobile kitchen.”
Is personal training available?
Yes, members are able to purchase one-on-one or small-group personal training sessions with a certified, experienced staff of trainers. All new members will receive a complementary session to try personal training.
Are swim lessons available?
Our Learn-to-Swim program is designed for children as young as six months, as well as for adults. Students will progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Each level of classes includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to stroke development. Lessons will be available in either group settings or as private lessons.
What will the group exercise schedule include?
There is a group exercise class for just about every interest including, but, not limited to: yoga, indoor cycling, pilates, step-aerobics, bars and bands, stability ball, and of course water aerobics and water resistance classes. New members will receive regular updates on the schedule and registration is not necessary for most classes.
Are there any programs for chronic disease prevention and recovery?
LifeStyles is integrated with Valley’s rehabilitation, sports medicine, and cardiac rehab programs located right at the Wellness Center.
Specialty programs include, but, are not limited to: AfterCare Fitness sessions for continued recovery after physical therapy, sports performance, cardiac rehab maintenance sessions for those who have completed a monitored program, and “prehab” sessions for those preparing for surgery and desiring to get a head-start on recovery.
Other programs include “Exercise as Medicine” for osteoarthritis, balance and fall-risk prevention, neuro-muscular disorders, post-concussion syndrome, and weight loss management.

Are child care services available?
Child care services are available for children ages six months to four years old for a nominal fee. Youth summer and holiday camps, as well as Family Fun Nights and Parent’s Night Out, are also offered at various times throughout the year. LifeStyles also offers the KidStyles program, a supervised play area for youths ages 5–12 years old, who are part of a family membership. A qualified attendant is on duty and will engage younger members in activities such as rock wall climbing, circuit training, gym activities, group games, jump rope, parachute games and free play.
When are “dependent hours?”
As a medical fitness facility, Valley Health LifeStyles has a keen focus on the safety of all of our members and, therefore, we utilize a system of dependent hours for our younger members.
Dependents are persons receiving parental support and are 23 years of age or younger, whose residence is the same as the primary member. Dependents have extended membership privileges under the Family Membership Category. All dependents will be issued a membership number, which must be entered at the front desk to gain access to LifeStyles. Hours for dependent usage of LifeStyles are:
